Silicone (VMQ), also known as vinyl methyl rubber, is a high-performance elastomer material ideally suited for demanding sealing applications. VMQ silicone offers outstanding temperature resistance, ranging from approximately -55 °C to +210 °C, making it perfect for environments with extreme temperatures. Additionally, silicone impresses with excellent resistance to weathering, ozone, and chemicals — particularly against water and humidity.
Silicone seals are widely used in the automotive industry, the food and beverage industry, and the medical sector, where their high heat resistance and flexibility are highly valued in challenging environments. VMQ silicone seals provide reliable sealing performance and long service life, even under extreme conditions. They are also available with certifications such as FDA, (EC) 1935/2004, BfR Recommendation XV, and USP Class VI.
